(the Chicone Cabinetmaker's Blog)
I am interested in the development of regional furniture forms and the unique style signature of historic cabinetmakers. Whenever possible I work with Sustainably harvested local timber. I believe that the biography of every piece is tied to a place, the forest the tree came from, the mill it was processed in, the hands that created its form.
My boutique cabinet shop is nestled in the heart of the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. I invite you to follow along with us on our blog as we share our latest projects. Welcome to our shop.
We had the pleasure of being part of the loving restoration of Thendara, the summer home of New York state senator John Raines, and one of Canandaigua Lake's historic gems— crafting custom kitchens and bars, vanities, built-ins, and architectural millwork, including molding, doors, and mahogany paneling and floors.
