Perfect for both traditional and contemporary interiors. The 18th-century design of this classic mahogany cannonball bed features a scrolled headboard. These beds were very popular during the Federalist period following the Revolutionary War, a time of growing patriotism in the young country. It was a common element and signature style of rural New England cabinetmakers. This bed features carved liner folds on the rounded posts.
Mortise and tenon rails are used for added support and strength together with bolts housed beneath traditional bed bolt covers supplied by Horton Brass. The solid mahogany bed is finished in lacquer to highlight the wood's natural warmth.
As every piece we craft is made to order, this bed is also available in different woods or painted color options, call to order. Prices will vary depending on bed size.
