This Windsor style candle stand is based on a circa 1820 design from Chester County Pennsylvania. It includes a lathe turned dished top with a raised edge. The top is secured to the legs with visible wedges. Everything is turned by hand on a lathe including the double baluster of the long tapered leg. The height of the stand would have brought candlelight eye level to a seated reader.
