Perfect for both traditional and contemporary interiors. The 18th-century design of this classic mahogany cannonball bed features a scrolled headboard. These beds were very popular during the Federalist period following the Revolutionary War, a time of growing patriotism in the young country. It was a common element and signature style of rural New England cabinetmakers. This bed features carved liner folds on the rounded posts. Mortise and tenon rails are used for added support and strength together with bolts housed beneath traditional bed bolt covers supplied by Horton Brass. The solid mahogany bed is finished in lacquer to highlight the wood's natural warmth. The bed is priced as a double (full). Prices will vary depending on wood selection and bed size. helped make our house feel like home
When we built our house, Chicone Cabinetmakers did all our trim work, vanities, medicine cabinets, complete kitchen, and other furniture. The quality and craftsmanship was the best we've seen. Vincent was very creative and receptive to our ideas. David, Vincent, Jen, Deb and all the crew helped make our house feel like home, and we made new friends too!

We are thrilled with our finished table
We met Vincent at a local art show and were immediately impressed with his work and knowledge. We commissioned him to design and build a mission oak style end table. After visiting our home, he was very prompt quoting a price and giving us a completion date and our piece was delivered ahead of schedule. It is worth a visit to his workshop/studio where you can see his designs and fine workmanship in progress. Vincent is a very accommodating young craftsman who takes into account your ideas and wishes without imposing his own. We are thrilled with our finished table and the entire experience was extremely rewarding!

attention to detail is outstanding
Doug and I are so pleased with the beautiful oak Windsor chairs that you made for us. We especially appreciate the "extra mile" you took to research a New York Windsor. We had brought you pictures of New England and Lancaster, PA Windsors; never realizing that there is a NY regional styled!!! Your attention to detail is outstanding. We appreciated your follow up also.

the eyes and hands of artists
In 2001, we decided to do a complete restoration and renovation of our mid 19th century home, so we put our architect's plans out for bid. After we'd spent a few hours listening to the proposal of David Chicone, we decided that Chicone Builders was our only choice. The firm's ideas, originality and commitment were noteworthy and apparent from the outset. In early 2002, the work began-and from total gut to shining restoration six months later, the men from Chicone's came through, doing what they had proposed, and more! They never missed a day even in bad weather; David worked with them; careful planning kept them on task. Every person was always ready to consult, explain and accept changes-working with Chicone Builders was, from start to finish, a superior (and educational) experience. They accomplish the ordinary meticulously; they craft the unusual, especially cabinetry and millwork, with the eyes and hands of artists.

this far exceeds anything we have ever imagined
My wife and I put an addition on our house in 2001. We only needed one more thing to complete our dream: We needed book shelves for cook books, CD storage, a place to but files, a built in desk and also a space for a laptop computer and printer. This piece had to fit along a nine foot wall and we wanted it to go up to the ceiling. A friend of ours knew Vincent and suggested we contact him. Antiques are a passion of ours and we had several ideas floating around. Vincent came to our house to discuss our project, we told him we wanted to mimic some of the aspects of our antique cupboards and stepbacks. After talking to Vincent we realized we also wanted him to use his imagination and ideas as well. Have you ever purchased something, gotten it home and said, this far exceeds anything we have ever imagined. After Vincent installed this beautiful piece of furniture, and I do mean a piece of furniture, that's how we felt. The craftsmanship and the woods are spectacular! The attention to detail, we still come over and stare, thinking WOW!

long-term dependability and trust
My family has been associated with Chicone Builders for over 40 years. The staff has performed many projects on my home over that period, all of which were done to our full satisfaction. As I think back on the service we received, the words which come to mind to describe both staff and workmanship of this company are: professionalism, trustworthiness, durability and reliability of the work done, sensitivity to the customer's needs, willingness to negotiate in favor of the preferences of the customer and promptness in responding to emergencies - above all, long-term dependability and trust.

nothing of comparable quality in any showroom
Chicone Cabinetmakers built a custom-made desks and library for our home office. They did an excellent job both designing and craftsmanship of our high quality furniture; moreover, everything was completed on time! Our office has become our favorite place in our house. The completed furniture is of such a high quality that we have seen nothing of comparable quality in any showroom. There is now such an easy visual harmony between our custom-made desks and our other furniture that our office has become so comfortable, we spend time there even when we do not have any work to do. Thank you Chicone Cabinetmakers.

Jefferson may have had Dinsmore BUT we have you.
Jefferson may have had Dinsmore BUT we have you. We spent all night moving furniture around to best show off the tall desk while it is waiting for its new home. We love it. Such a work of love. PS: We are thinking of our next piece.Thank you.

a great job from start to finish
In assembling a team to complete the diverse and challenging exhibit program for the Griffin Discovery Room at Monticello, USA chose Chicone Cabinetmakers to make select pieces of reproduction furniture for the gallery. Led by Vincent Chicone, they did a great job from start to finish. Vincent met us on site in Virginia to measure and discuss the original furniture with Monticello's master carpenter. Back in their shop in Montour Falls NY, they crafted reproductions of Thomas Jefferson's rotating table, rotating chair, and Windsor foot bench. Chicone's fine craftsmanship and attention to detail was surpassed only by their enthusiasm for the project, responsiveness to our needs and the client's satisfaction. Chicone Cabinetmakers was an invaluable asset to our success at Monticello. We look forward to the same success in future partnerships.
